New Characters, New Twists: ‘Bridgerton’ Season 3 Without Phoebe Dynevor’s Daphne

Phoebe Dynevor, the actress behind the role of Daphne in the popular Netflix series Bridgerton, has confirmed that she will not be a part of the upcoming season 3.

Next season will focus on Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton, excluding the character of Daphne for now. By the way, I’m looking forward to watching season 3 as a viewer.

“Sadly not in season 3. Potentially in the future. But season 3, I’m just excited to watch as a viewer,” Dynevor said.

The actress and Netflix have made no additional statements about the situation. Fans can nevertheless anticipate more riveting Regency-era romance and drama in the upcoming season.

The news of Daphne’s absence from Season 3 of Bridgerton comes as no surprise, as each season of the show focuses on a different brother in the Bridgerton family.

The first season focused on the characters of Daphne and Léger-Jean Page, Simon Bassett and the Duke of Hastings, while the second season followed Anthony Bridgerton and Kate Sharma.

“Penelope needs to realize Colin is a fallible human being,” Coughlan said in a previous interview with EW. 

“He’s not a god; he’s not an Adonis. If they’re ever going to have any type of relationship, it’s not healthy for her to see him in that way. She’s got to see him flaws and all, and she currently doesn’t. In the long run, it’s probably a good thing, but it’s not going to be an immediate good thing.”
